ProVerdicts is a directory of individual professionals — doctors, dentists, lawyers, therapists and others — listed under their own names, with a place for the people they served to say how it went.

Most review sites are built around businesses: the clinic, the dental office, the law firm. But you don’t choose a clinic, you choose a person. The cardiologist your doctor referred you to. The lawyer whose name a friend mentioned. When you search that name, you usually find a hospital bio, a few lines on a firm website, and reviews of the building’s parking lot. We think the person deserves a page of their own, and so do you.

Where the profiles come from

Every profile on ProVerdicts belongs to a real, licensed professional, and every fact on it comes from an official public record:

  • Doctors and other clinicians — the national provider registry (NPI) maintained by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and Medicare’s clinician data, which lists practice locations, medical school and graduation year, hospital affiliations and whether a clinician accepts Medicare assignment.
  • Dentists — the national provider registry, including New York State license numbers.
  • Lawyers — New York State’s official attorney registration records, published by the state court system, which show each attorney’s firm, office, year of admission, law school and registration status.

We don’t invent anything. If a record doesn’t tell us something — a lawyer’s practice areas, a doctor’s office hours — we leave it out rather than guess. Records change, though, and a doctor who moved practices last month may still show the old address. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we’ll check it against the source and fix it.

Where the reviews come from

Only from people. Reviews on ProVerdicts are written by patients and clients who chose to share their experience. We don’t buy reviews, write them, import them from other websites or let professionals pay to remove them. You can read how we handle reviews in our review guidelines.

Starting in Buffalo

We began with Buffalo and Erie County, New York, and we’re adding professions and areas a piece at a time — carefully, so each new profile is as complete as the first ones.
